Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Duties

This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career. 

Working with Athlone Canal Heritage Committee and it's sister project at No: 1 Gun Battery by assisting in the preservation and conservation works on Athlone Canal and the No 1 Gun Battery. 

Duties to include Litter picking, strimming and weed control, planting flowers, pruning of shrubs and hedges, painting of bollards, maintenance of fences, and cleaning of wooden and concrete structures. 

Flexibility is required as interchange of roles with Athlone Canal Heritage Committee and No 1 Gun Battery is required.
