Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Duties

This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.

The Handyperson/ Relief Driver will support Drogheda Homeless Aid by ensuring facilities, accommodation units, and vehicles are maintained to a safe and functional standard, while also providing relief driving support for our meals on wheels service. This role is vital in helping the organisation deliver hot balanced meals to some of our communities most vulnerable of ill residents

Key Responsibilities
Handyperson/ Maintenance Duties
	Carry out general maintenance and minor repairs across all Drogheda Homeless Aid properties and facilities
	Perform tasks such as basic plumbing, painting, carpentry, fixture repairs, and grounds maintenance
	Conduct routine safety and maintenance checks and report any major issues
	Liaise with management when specialist repairs are required
	Ensure tools, equipment, and work areas are kept safe and tidy
	Respond promptly to urgent maintenance issues as they arise
Relief Driver Duties
	Provide relief driving support for our meals on wheels service
	Ensure vehicles are roadworthy, clean, and well maintained
	Carry out basic vehicle checks (fuel, oil, tyres, cleanliness)
	Adhere to all road safety regulations and organisational transport policies
	Maintain accurate logs of vehicle use and report any issues
