Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.



Duties

This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.

Cafe Assistant
19.5 hours per week, days will vary and will include evenings and weekends. 
The Café Assistant will be responsible for the day to day provision of café services, including general food and beverage preparation, cleaning and general services.   
Duties to include -
Ensuring excellence in food and beverage preparation and customer service; 
Carrying out all tasks associated with receiving money, balancing cash register, cashier reports and filing, as well as ensure an efficient stock management system; 
Assisting management in order to create a viable and thriving café for the community; 
Taking all practicable steps to ensure personal safety and the safety of others while at work, in accordance with QCYC's Health and Safety policies, procedures and systems. 
Person Specification 
Previous experience of working in food / hospitality industry would be beneficial.  
Cash handling skills; 
High standards of personal and food hygiene; 
Show initiative and is self-motivated; 
Flexible in hours/days worked and ability to prioritise and meet deadlines; 
Excellent interpersonal and working skills;
Full Training will be provided
