Our client, Central Bus & Coach Limited, based in Kenagh, Co. Longford, is currently seeking Bus Drivers for immediate start at their facility in Kenagh, Co. Longford. 


Qualifications:

1-3 years’ of previous experience as a Bus Driver required. Applicants must hold an equivalent category to a category D, DE, D1 or D1E driving licence identified through a mutual recognition agreement between the Road Safety Authority and the appropriate regulatory authority in another jurisdiction). There are no minimum academic requirements. Further training will be provided on-the-job as required. 


General Duties / Responsibilities / Experience:
- To operate buses and coaches, take fares and look after passengers 
- To operate the bus safely and efficiently on designated routes or chartered journeys.
- To ensure adherence to scheduled departure and arrival times.
- To navigate various traffic conditions and weather challenges while ensuring passenger comfort and safety.
- To assist passengers with inquiries about routes, schedules, and ticketing.
- To offer assistance to passengers with special needs, including those with disabilities or elderly passengers
- To conduct daily vehicle checks, including brakes, tires, lights, and fluid levels, and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- To comply with all traffic laws and transport regulations.
- To maintain awareness of health and safety procedures, including emergency evacuation protocols.
- Essential knowledge includes effective perception of the transport environment, health and safety measures in transportation, and road traffic laws
- Further essential knowledge includes mechanical components of vehicles and passenger transport regulations
- Essential skills include adherence to transportation work schedule, application of conflict management, and assisting disabled passengers
- Further essential competencies include cleaning vehicles, communicating clearly with passengers and controlling the performance of the vehicle
- Applicants must be competent to drive in urban areas, ensure vehicle operability, and to interpret traffic signals 
- Applicants must be competent to keep time accurately, maintain concentration for long periods, and to help control passenger behaviour during emergency situations
- Applicants must have experience in driving a passenger bus in urban and rural areas
- Applicants must have 1-3 years’ of relevant experience as a Bus Driver
- Applicants must hold an equivalent category to a category D, DE, D1 or D1E driving licence identified through a mutual recognition agreement between the Road Safety Authority and the appropriate regulatory authority in another jurisdiction). 


Annual Remuneration: €36,605.00; Pay rate €18.05 per hour
