Freshford Town FC require a caretaker/groundskeeper for the maintenance for the sports grounds. Position Overview The Caretaker/Groundskeeper is responsible for the maintenance, safety, and presentation of the club’s grounds, facilities, and equipment. This role ensures that pitches are prepared to a high standard, the clubhouse and amenities are kept clean and secure, and visitors, players, and staff enjoy a safe and welcoming environment. Key Responsibilities Grounds & Pitch Maintenance Prepare and maintain football pitches (marking lines, mowing, watering, divot repair, etc.). Ensure training areas and goalposts are safe and in good condition. Monitor pitch quality and advise on scheduling to prevent overuse. Manage and operate grounds maintenance equipment safely. Facilities Caretaking Open and close the clubhouse, changing rooms, and facilities for training, matches, and events. Maintain cleanliness of buildings, including changing rooms, toilets, communal areas, and storage. Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify and report repairs. Carry out minor repairs (basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, etc.) where possible. Health, Safety & Security Ensure all facilities are safe, secure, and compliant with regulations. Lock up buildings and gates when not in use. Support in implementing health and safety procedures for players, visitors, and staff. Additional Duties Assist with matchday set-up and clear-up (flags, nets, corner posts, technical areas). Support deliveries and manage storage of equipment. Provide support for club events and community activities. Work with volunteers and contractors as required.
