In order to work in Ireland a non-EEA National, unless they are exempted, must hold a valid employment permit. Please review the Eligibility and requirements for an employment permit if you are unsure of your eligibility to apply for this vacancy.
About the Role We're growing our presence in the Indian market, and we're looking for someone who can be the bridge between our Irish/EU operations and our Hindi-speaking clients, candidates and partners in India. This isn't a back-office translation job, you'll be a genuine legal and business resource for the firm as we build out this new desk, working alongside our consultants on everything from contracts to compliance to candidate placements. You'll also carry a second, increasingly important brief: helping us stay ahead of AI-related regulation in Ireland and the EU, since so much of modern recruitment now runs through automated screening, AI-assisted matching tools, and data-driven candidate assessment , all of which now sit under real legal scrutiny. Key Responsibilities Provide legal and market support to the firm on matters involving Indian law, the Indian legal and regulatory environment, and the Indian recruitment/employment landscape. Support consultants in delivering services to Hindi-speaking clients, candidates and partners, including those based in India and the wider South Asian region. Act as the main point of contact for Hindi-speaking clients, professional contacts, and (where relevant) public authorities in India. Carry out legal research on Indian employment law, immigration requirements, and data protection rules (including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act) as they affect recruitment and placement work. Advise internally on AI-related legal developments in Ireland and the EU, particularly the EU AI Act and its overlap with GDPR, as they apply to recruitment technology, automated screening, and candidate-data handling. Prepare, review, and translate legal correspondence, contracts, and placement documentation between English and Hindi. Support contract negotiations and compliance matters involving Indian clients, candidates, and business partners. Advise the firm on Irish employment permit routes (including General Employment Permit requirements) where these are relevant to placing Indian candidates in Ireland or the EU. Help build out the firm's professional network and reputation in the Indian market. Maintain client and candidate files, track deadlines, and keep documentation accurate and audit-ready. Provide general legal and administrative support to consultants as needed. What We're Looking For A law degree or EU legal qualification. At least professional relevant legal or compliance experience, ideally with direct exposure to the Indian legal system or Indian market. Some working familiarity with AI and data protection regulation in Ireland/the EU (EU AI Act, GDPR). This can come from practice and in-house work. Fluent Hindi and strong professional English, spoken and written. Sharp research and drafting skills, and the ability to explain legal detail clearly to non-lawyers. Comfortable operating across cultures and time zones, and confident liaising directly with clients ,candidates and officials.
