Hiring for Longford, Roscommon & surrounding areas. Accommodation arrangements may be available for Support Workers travelling from outside the local area. Further details can be discussed during the recruitment process What you'll be doing Supporting adult men with intellectual disabilities, autism, mental health needs and complex support requirements Daily living support — cooking, shopping, budgeting, household routines Encourage and prompt independence in personal care, appearance and daily routines in line with the individual's support planGetting out and about: appointments, day services, training, sport, leisure, family visits Following individual support plans, positive behaviour support plans and risk plans Administering and recording medication (training provided) Writing clear daily notes and incident reports Reporting any safeguarding concern immediately Working as part of a small, tight team on a planned rota Social Care Workers additionally hold key working responsibility — writing and reviewing support plans, leading on shift, and liaising with the MDT What you need Full driving licence. You'll be driving service users and moving between locations. Some experience supporting people with different conditions — intellectual disability, autism, mental health, epilepsy, acquired brain injury, dementia or physical disability QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support, Social Care or Disability Studies — or a genuine willingness to complete it. Social Care Worker: CORU registration on the Social Care Workers Register and a recognised Level 7 or 8 qualification in Social Care Practice. Eligible to work in Ireland Happy to be Garda vetted and provide two references Available for 12-hour day and night shifts, weekends and bank holidays Nice to have Experience in a HIQA-designated centre or supported living service MAPA/CPI, Safeguarding, Manual Handling, BLS, Infection Prevention & Control Experience with behaviours of concern Something you can genuinely share — sport, music, cooking, the outdoors Who we're looking for You're a people person.
