Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.



Duties

This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.

The Community & Youth Projects Support Worker will assist in planning and delivering youth and community initiatives in Dublin 13, engaging residents, assisting in organising events, and supporting programme development. This role, part of the Community Employment Scheme (19.5 hrs/week), requires good communication, teamwork, and organisational skills to help embed YMCA Dublin’s services in new communities.

The successful candidate will need to have a genuine interest in the Youth and Community Sector.

Key Responsibilities:
Support the planning and delivery of Community & Youth projects, events and programming.
Engage with local residents and young people to build relationships and encourage participation.
Assist in organising events, workshops and outreach activities.
Help set up and prepare spaces and materials for activities.
Additional light administrative duties; including stock taking, passing on resident feedback/queries, session planning where required.
Undertaking practical training. 
Abide by YMCA Policies and Procedures, including Child Protection and Health & Safety.
Any other duties related to the delivery of YMCA Youth & Community Services.

Further information:
19.5 hours per week. 4 days a week across Monday - Saturday.
Working hours will be afternoons/evenings and weekends - no later than 9pm finish time.
Flexibility will be required to meet the needs of the services.
Continuous training & laptop will be provided.
Location: Dublin 13. Parkside Hubs as primary location with DeVerdon Place as second working location, when necessary.

YMCA Dublin is establishing a new community hub cluster, and the Community & Youth Projects Support Worker will be working closely with the Community Projects Manager to embed new youth and community services in the area. 

Successful candidates will report to our Community Projects Manager and will work within the Youth and Community Services team, as well as working with other YMCA colleagues to drive projects forward and to bring the best out in people in line with the YMCA’s ethos and mission.
