Hoistech Ltd is seeking an experienced Plant Machinery Assessor / Lifting Equipment Engineer to join our growing team. This is a rotational role involving work across Finland and other EU locations, combined with periods working in Ireland.
The role is suited to someone with a strong background in plant machinery, mechanical engineering, plant fitting, lifting equipment, construction equipment or heavy industry who is comfortable working independently in a fast-moving environment.
You will be responsible for carrying out assessments and inspections of plant machinery and lifting equipment, identifying defects or safety concerns, completing accurate reports and supporting the safe and compliant operation of equipment on customer sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out inspections and assessments of plant machinery and lifting equipment.
- Identify defects, damage, wear and potential safety issues.
- Complete clear and accurate inspection reports and associated documentation.
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with relevant safety and compliance requirements.
- Liaise professionally with customers, site personnel and the Hoistech team.
- Work independently and use initiative to resolve issues on site.
- Follow site-specific procedures, RAMS and health & safety requirements.
- Travel between customer sites in Finland and other EU locations as required.
- Support Hoistech operations in Ireland during the Irish portion of the rotation.
Key Requirements:
- Relevant experience in plant machinery, plant fitting/mechanics, lifting equipment, mechanical maintenance, heavy equipment, construction or a similar technical environment.
- Strong practical and mechanical knowledge.
- Ability to assess equipment and identify mechanical or safety-related issues.
- Good attention to detail and ability to complete accurate documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to use initiative.
- Comfortable working independently and adapting to changing priorities.
- Good communication and customer-facing skills.
- Full driving licence.
- Ability and willingness to work overseas on a rotational basis.
- EU/EEA citizenship or unrestricted right to work across the required EU locations.
Previous experience working away from home, on rotation, or on international projects would be a strong advantage.
The Finland/EU portion operates on a 3 weeks on / 1 week off rotation, with accommodation provided. The overall position involves approximately 6 months on the Finland/EU rotation followed by 6 months working in Ireland.
Finland/EU salary: €4,400–€5,200 per month, depending on experience and individual circumstances.
This role would suit someone who is practical, dependable and comfortable taking responsibility for their own work while representing Hoistech professionally on customer sites.
