Job Title: Structural Steel Painter
Employer: Cronin Buckley Fabrication & Construction Limited
Location: Kilumney, Ovens, Co. Cork. P31 D379
Salary: €36,605 p. a.
Hours: 39 hours per week

Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience in surface preparation, coating application and mixing materials;
• Ability to use and maintain painting and surface preparation equipment safely and effectively.
• Good knowledge of PPE, respiratory protection and workplace health and safety procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical specifications and work instructions.
 
Key Responsibilities:
• Surface Preparation: Clean steel surfaces by operating shot blasting machine, grinding, sanding, or scraping to remove rust, mill scale, dirt, and oil.
• Coating Application: Apply primers, anti-corrosive layers, and protective finish coats using airless sprayers, conventional spray equipment, rollers, and brushes.
• Mixing Materials: Measure and mix multi-part paints, thinners, and coatings according to strict manufacturer and project specifications.
• Quality Control: Check coating thickness using specialized gauges and inspect surfaces for runs, drips, or dry spots to ensure uniform coverage.
• Equipment Maintenance: Clean, flush, and perform routine maintenance on spray guns, hoses, pots, and rigging tools after use.
• Safety & Compliance: Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), follow respiratory safety rules
