Position Title:	Manufacturing Technician

Location:		Biovotec DAC, Hamilton Building, Dublin City University Campus, Glasnevin, Dublin 9.

Terms:	Full-time permanent position.

Reporting to:	Production Manager.

The Role:
Biovotec DAC a Medical Device Company based on the Dublin City University campus, Glasnevin, Dublin are recruiting a full time manufacturing technician to produce our patented powder used in the manufacture of our wound care device.

Principle  Duties:
The role of the manufacturing technician will include the duties listed below:
1.	To manufacture the powder by washing, drying and milling according to written procedures.
2.	To accurately document the production of the powder using the process records.
3.	To maintain logbooks for the manufacturing equipment and production areas.
4.	To clean, maintain, monitor and calibrate the manufacturing equipment and production areas.
5.	To maintain and monitor the in house water purification system.
6.	To prepare and ship samples for testing.
7.	To prepare and ship the powder for sterilisation.
8.	To maintain the stocklist and replenish stocks of the production consumables.
9.	To receive, record and inspect incoming goods.
10.	To organise and segregate raw materials and in-process intermediates.
11.	To decontaminate and dispose of production waste and out of date materials by autoclave steam sterilisation.

Position Requirements:
The manufacturing technician role could be suitable for:
•	A person with previous manufacturing experience seeking the opportunity to work in the regulated medical device industry.
•	A person with a scientific background who would be interested in working in the medical device industry.
•	A person with no previous manufacturing experience or scientific background who is looking for a career in the medical device industry. 

Skills required:
Regardless of previous experience, the manufacturing technician will receive full training to meet the requirements of the role and the Biovotec Quality system.
The successful candidate will:
•	Have good attention to detail.
•	Perform their duties following written procedures.
•	Document the work performed by completing record sheets.
•	Take pride in their work and working environment.
•	Some aspects of the role require long periods of standing and lifting weights up to 25 Kg, an appropriate level of fitness is required.
•	Be an active participant in a small team.
•	Have a basic knowledge of email, WORD and EXCEL.
