This work experience programme provides Participants with an opportunity to gain meaningful work experience, learning and training while on the programme. This programme is for jobseekers that are in receipt of qualifying social welfare payments and those transferring from a social welfare scheme. Your eligibility for this programme will have to be verified by the Department as part of the application process. If you are in receipt of the Pandemic Unemployment Payment (PUP) you will be required to transfer to a Jobseekers payment in order to participate on the programme. 


During the 6 month placement the participant will gain practical experience in various aspects of working in a transport company.
On a daily basis, you will be involved in assisting in having each vehicle cleaned and ready for use by the passengers.  The participant will assist and learn their duties with the mentorship of an experienced member of staff. The participant will assist and learn in the following: 
You will always be working as part of a team that will be there to offer any support needed. At the end of your training, you will have developed the following skills: Teamwork, problem solving, listening, communication, time management, attention to details, vehicle valet, and maintenance system monitoring. Additionally, you will be familiar with our ticket machine systems and journey routes.
The successful participant will gain experience in, and will be trained in the following:
·         Training will be provided on cleaning techniques on various surfaces and fabrics.
·         Training will be provided on the operation of cleaning machines.
·         Training will be provided on basic vehicle maintenance.
·         Training will be provided on cleaning vehicles.
·         Training will be on carrying out vehicle walk around check.
·         Training will be provided on passenger ticket machine use.  
·         Training will be provided on monitoring the vehicle walk around check app and reporting any faults to management. 
This is a training and work experience opportunity; no prior experience in this role is necessary. Accredited and/or sector recognised training will be provided to support your placement. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection. This optional module will fulfil your accredited training requirements for the WPEP.
