The School of Mathematics at Trinity College, Dublin is seeking three candidates for the post of teaching fellow in mathematics. The successful candidate(s) will be able to teach on the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes delivered by the School. The Teaching Fellow(s) will take responsibility for the teaching of established modules and will have substantial freedom to shape each module within the parameters of the syllabus. The appointments will commence on September 1st 2024 and is expected to be for one year. These are teaching positions but involves opportunities to take part in the school’s research activities. Each teaching semester at Trinity College is 12 weeks long including a study week without lectures or tutorials.

Standard Duties and Responsibilities of the Post
The successful candidate(s) will:
	be expected to deliver four to five modules in the School of Mathematics at undergraduate and postgraduate level. 
	 have responsibility for the design and coordination of each module, delivery of lectures and seminars, student engagement and the setting and marking of assignments and examinations
	undertake student supervision at both undergraduate and postgraduate (taught) levels
	undertake administrative duties as assigned by the Head of School
	engage with School and College activities and initiatives such as internship programmes, outreach events and seminars.

Qualifications
PhD in Mathematics or a related subject (Essential).

Knowledge & Experience (Essential & Desirable)
The successful candidate will have
	Experience in face-to-face and virtual teaching at undergraduate or postgraduate levels (Desirable)
	Ability to teach both large (i.e. over 100 students) and small classes (seminars, tutorials) (Desirable).

Skills & Competencies
	Well-developed written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
	Planning and organisational skills, particularly with regard to managing and coordinating university teaching
