The Department of Defence invites applications for appointment to the position of Lifeguard/Pool Maintenance Operator (General Operative Band 3 Rural). This competition is open to all candidates who meet the minimum eligibility criteria. The appointment is to a part time permanent General Operative Band 3 (rural), Lifeguard, DFTC Curragh Camp, Co Kildare. You will be employed during the opening hours of the swimming pool, 0700hrs – 2100hrs Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and 0800hrs – 1600hrs Saturday. The appointment will be based on you working 20 hours per week. The hours of attendance will be as may be prescribed from time to time. At present a working week over seven days applies with a minimum weekly attendance of 20 hours. You may be required to complete the Ireland Active Swimming & Spa Pool Operators Certificate Course (ISSPC). On completion of this course you may be required to undertake pool maintenance/pool plant room duties, as part of the role. Candidates are required to: Be Qualified Lifeguard (IWS pool lifeguard Level 2) Desirable Skills/ Attributes: • Have completed the Ireland Active Swimming & Spa Pool Operators Certificate Course (ISSPC) • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills. • Ability to work as part of a team • Ability to work unsupervised and show initiative • Be available to work flexible hours If you are interested in being considered for the above position and are satisfied that you meet the criteria as outlined above and in the information booklet, please complete an Application Form.
