Project Manager-Food Processing Industry-North of Cork-1107-Direct/Contract

Manage the Red Meat Irl projects, carry out the development of a wide range of projects, monitoring progression against identified milestones within the overall project plan. Advising and directing Site Managers in relation to individual site projects with involvement in every stage and level from concept to completion.

Primary Duties and Objectives:
Carry out project work which concludes with the actioning of applications for Capital Expenditure (Project Requests).
Assume Project engineer responsibilities.
Preparation/ review of Capital Expenditure applications.
Preparation/ review of Project proposals.
Interpret requesters needs and take responsibility for Capital Project Works.
Assist (upon assigned projects) Site Managers in the preparation of all Capital Expenditure (Application) details including:
Assessing and reporting upon 'as is' situation v proposed actions.
Planning the project - break down into practicable stages.
Capacity - anticipated utilisation with identification of bottlenecks/Potential bottlenecks.
Maintainability (standardisation of equipment and parts, adequate supply [lead time] and planned Original Equipment Manufacturer support)
Health and Safety standards (Compliance to European standard).
Life cycle costs (number of years before replacement with supporting plans [above] geared accordingly.
Obtain/arrange relevant supporting technical publications.
Identify training needs and how they will be satisfied.
Identify commissioning requirements and satisfaction.
Identify systems for assuring standard of materials/post transit verification of condition.

Carry out Project Management upon the Approval of Projects and fulfil the tasks below.
Capture project plan, objectives and specifications.
Assume Engineering control of assigned projects.
Manage and Co-ordinate (Build)
Planning Applications.
Applications for planning permissions.
Design stage -create project drawings.
Contract design specifications.
Tender documentation and Bills of Quantity.
Tender analysis.

Management and monitoring of contractors in the application of documentation and systems upon award of contract.
-Issuing of Contract documentation to contractor.
-Contractor handbook procedures.
-Company Permit Policy contractor requirements.
-Instigation and completion of Safe Work pre-approval process.

Skills / Knowledge/ Experience/ Academic Requirements:
-Degree level or HND in relevant discipline with experience.
-Planning and scheduling.
-Trained in Problem solving techniques and breakdown analysis.
