Title: Assistant Lecturer in Chemical and BioPharmaceutical Sciences (Analytical Chemistry/Forensic Analysis) (Permanent Wholetime) (Reference: 326a/2024)
Brief summary of post: The School of Chemical and BioPharmaceutical Sciences is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic team player to the position of Assistant Lecturer in Analytical Chemistry/Forensic Analysis on a permanent wholetime basis. The candidate will have expertise in Analytical Chemistry and Forensic Analysis Candidates should have a proven track record of research and scholarly activities, specifically in Analytical Chemistry and Forensic Analysis which will support the research and scholarly activities of the school. The person appointed will contribute strongly to teaching and assessing, particularly across the school’s undergraduate programmes. In addition to teaching and research, the role will involve curriculum development, particularly the expansion and integration analytical chemistry into our programmes, programme management and administration, and pastoral care of students. An industry background and familiarisation with modern teaching and assessment methods including on-line teaching and assessment would be advantageous. Engagement with industry, community and/or professional bodies is desirable. The successful candidate will be required to be flexible and work on their own initiative as well as contributing to a team of professionals. The school is seeking an enthusiastic team player with the ability to network with colleagues and other stakeholders. The candidate should have excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Communication with students is particularly important. 
Hours of Work: This is a wholetime post. In addition to teaching hours (up to 18 hours per week), attendance is required from Monday to Friday during the general working hours of the School and Faculty of Science and Health
Location: The post will be based primarily on the Grangegorman Campus although as the School has a cross-Campus presence attendance may be required on the Tallaght Campus. The university may consider flexible working arrangements.

Salary:
The successful candidate will be appointed at point (01) of the Assistant Lecturer Salary Scale. The salary for this post is:
• €49,146 - € 60,647
•  €44,640- €60,047 (New Entrants)
