Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Duties

This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.

The Caretaker Assistant will join the Ballina team where they will learn how to care for and maintain the premises of two day services and administrative offices.  Duties will include learning the caretaking of the premises outdoor/indoor as required. Basic repairs and maintenance, general cleaning of canteen, communal areas, offices and bathrooms throughout and at the end of the day. Learn how to maintain the security of the premises. Comply with legal regulations.  They will assist staff to maximise community inclusion and participation of the people we support. They will be taught how to promote safety in all environments, in line with the Association’s practices. Use positive approaches to support people who may have challenging behaviour in line with Organisational practice.  The candidate will receive support and supervision from the Community Employment Scheme Supervisor and also the Day Service Manager regarding the day to day work.
