As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will deliver innovative and technically challenging mechanical engineering solutions for a diverse portfolio of MEICA (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, and Automation) and Civil works. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement mechanical systems for municipal water and wastewater projects. The role demands strong technical expertise, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to manage mechanical aspects of projects from design through to completion. The main duties and responsibilities of the Mechanical Project Engineer are outlined as follows: Work as part of a team in the delivery of one or more projects at any one time, embracing the ethos of a “one team” culture. Mechanical Design Leadership - Take a leading role in the mechanical design and system integration for water and wastewater treatment projects. Oversee all stages of mechanical design, including site surveys, feasibility studies, detailed design, and tender pricing. Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration - Work closely with civil, process, electrical, ICA, and H&S teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems into the overall project. Provide technical guidance and coordination with internal and external design and project delivery teams. Procurement and Equipment Selection - Manage the selection and procurement of mechanical equipment (e.g., pumps, valves, tanks, pipework) and materials, ensuring compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and project specifications.
