Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.



Duties

This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.

Duties to include: 
•	Plan and prepare nutritious and child friendly menus in consultation with the Line Manager, staff and children
•	To liase with the Line Manager in relation to the budgeting and economical use of food supplies, ensuring an adequate supply of stock is maintained and food is purchased as required
•	To maintain hygiene and Health & Safety standards (H.A.C.C.P.) in keeping with current relevant legislation, regulations and best practice.
•	To work in a flexible manner in relation to the needs of the service, providing assistance to other staff as appropriate
•	To take into account any special dietary requests
•	To produce foods that offer choice, variety and diversity to the children
•	To keep appropriate food safety records
•	Take action when aware of unhygienic practices which may put the safety of food at risk
•	To carry out a risk assessment annually within your areas of work in collaboration with others
