First Year Apprentice Vacancy

Position: Operations Coordinator /Apprentice (Logistics Associate Apprenticeship)
Location: Dublin 2

The primary objective of the role is to ensure our vessels berth as per our Proforma agreements, and that our vessels move through the UK ports as fast, efficiently and safely as possible. 

APPRENTICE TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Generate forecasts for feeder operators
Send export feeder work orders to feeder operators
Send export DGNs to feeder operators
Liaise with feeder operators on cut-offs
Update and maintain feeder cut-offs in FIS
Liaise with Feeder Scheduling Team on maintenance of DPs/RVTs
Adhoc maintenance of feeder schedule
Actualise feeder schedule
Send VGM reminders before feeder cut-offs
Generate MRN list per feeder
Liaise with Vessel Balancing on bookings to roll
Monitor TSOPS inbox
General troubleshooting on emails from GCC / UK team / vendors / customers
PERSON SPECIFICATION

Strong knowledge in Shipping / Port Operations
Strong Microsoft Office Skills
Ability to work well within a busy team
Good organisational skills
Ability to multi-task and work under strict time pressures
Strong and clear communication skills (written and oral
Ability to progress and resolve problems on own initiative
High level of accuracy and numeracy
Flexible in working hours as may be called to emergencies at short notice from time to time
**Applicants must meet the educational criteria for the LAA programme entry criteria:

H7/O6 or above in five leaving certificate (or equivalent) subjects. A minimum of grade O6 must be obtained in English. A minimum of grade O6 or a B2 or above in Foundation level must be obtained in mathematics
Holders of a QQI Level 5 or Level 6 (or equivalent) in cognate areas (e.g., business, logistics and distribution, supply chain management, etc.)
Applicants may also be eligible to become apprentices via Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
