Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Duties

This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.

	To assist sessions for groups of people with sight loss as part of the suite of programmes at the Training Centre.
•	To assist the tutors in preparing courses, schemes of work, assessment tools and individual lessons appropriate to the , interests, experience and existing knowledge of the learners in one’s class.
•	To contribute to the planning, development and implementation of training programmes developed through the person-centred planning process.
•	To be responsible for an allocated area of the service to manage and develop. This will entail responsibility for creating and monitoring appropriate sessions in that area as well as relevant equipment and resources.
•	Troubleshooting issues with existing courses and updating materials as necessary to incorporate a variety of interactive teaching methodologies.
•	Support and participate in the development and provision of accessible learning materials, ensuring compatibility with assistive tools (e.g., screen readers, magnifiers, and Braille resources).
•	To support in the implementation of a universal design for learning approach with all Vision Ireland Training courses. Incorporate a proactive approach to reasonable accommodation using universal design for learning to support learners to have the opportunity to engage with education in a deeper and more meaningful way.
