Position Summary
We are seeking a highly capable Pre-Construction Engineer to join our team and play a key role in shaping the successful delivery of complex commercial landscape projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background in engineering or construction and will possess excellent technical, communication, and organisational skills.

Key Responsibilities
Project Analysis and Review
Analyse and interpret complex landscape designs, specifications, and construction drawings.
Identify potential constructability issues, risks, design conflicts, and compliance/scope gaps.
Collaborate with internal design, commercial, and delivery teams to propose practical solutions.
Pre-Construction Coordination
Lead the preparation of comprehensive pre-construction plans and documents.
Coordinate technical documentation, detailing, and value engineering exercises.
Assist with the preparation of preliminary construction programmes and phasing strategies.
Technical Support and Communication
Liaise with consultants, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure design intent is achievable and cost-effective.
Provide timely feedback and support to estimators and project managers on buildability, sequencing, and resourcing matters.
Prepare and deliver concise technical reports, reviews, and briefings to project stakeholders.

Logistics and Materials Planning
Assist project team in planning material requirements, lead times, and delivery strategies in alignment with the construction programme.
Support procurement teams by identifying specialist materials and systems required for landscape construction.
Project Monitoring
Support ongoing construction projects by attending site reviews and monitoring implementation of pre-construction plans.
Assist team in preparation of project handovers by reviewing technical records, as-builts and operation manuals.

Candidate Profile Qualifications and Experience
Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Landscape Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in landscape construction, engineering or design coordination within a contractor or consultancy environment.
Experience working with commercial, public realm, or large-scale residential landscape or construction projects.

Skills and Competencies
Strong understanding of landscape construction methods, detailing, and sequencing.
Proficiency in relevant software including AutoCAD, MS Project, Excel, and document control platforms (e.g., Procore, Aconex, or similar).
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents with accuracy and insight.
Excellent problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills.
High level of attention to detail and ability to prioritise multiple tasks under pressure
