Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.



Duties

This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.



 The programme will give successful applicants the opportunity for practical work experience of 19.5 hours per week within Teach Failte, Womens and Childrens Hostel, Mullingar in conjunction with studying towards a QQI Major Award in their chosen career. The work experience and training will enable applicants to secure future employment opportunities within the various sector. All training cost are funded 100% through the programme. Assistant support worker in the following area:, Teach Failte Women's and Children's Hostel, Green Road, Mullingar. 

Duties: Successful applicants will assist staff in the provisions of a quality service to residents of Teach Failte Emergency Accommodation. To work as part of a team providing a safe, secure and welcoming environment to individuals and families who are out of home. To respond appropriately to clients needs and enable them to move on successfully. To assist in maintaining a sufficiently high standard of hygiene within the setting. Support residents in carrying out daily chores and assist staff in implementing support plans or specific programs of support for those availing of the service. The ability to maintain confidentiality is essential for this position.
