Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.



Duties

This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.

If you are 21 years or over in receipt of a social welfare payment for 12 months, this is a opportunity to gain experience as building caretaker and a stepping stone to employment. 

Weekly rate €271.50 for single person and extra for dependents. This programme will give successful applicants the opportunity to gain practical work experience of 19.5 hours per week in conjunctions with training towards a QQI qualification in your chosen career. all training is funded through the programme 100%.

Duties 
To follow a Caretaker schedule set out by management. To maintain and monitor the condition and security of the building. keep the building clean inside and outside, assist with minor repairs and ensure that amenities such as hot water and heating is in working order. Keep the grounds clean and tidy, spot paint where needed to include childcare rooms, hallways and toilets and any other remedial works that might be required from time to time. 
In the case of a suspected/confirmed Covid-19 case a deep clean must be carried out following Covid-19 cleaning procedure in place.
