Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.



Duties

This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career. 

The CE programme will give successful applicants paid employment and the opportunity to gain practical work experience of 19.5 hours per week within an Afterschool Setting. The work experience and training will enable applicants to secure future employment opportunities within the Childcare sector. All training cost will be 100% funded through the programme.  Duties to include: supporting Afterschool Room leader with daily programme activities, assisting children with homework and reading, assist in serving of afterschool dinners & afterschool snacks, working as part of a team under the direction of the room leader. Being mindful of health and safety issues in the workplace. working hours Monday to Friday 1:00 to 5:00pm excluding breaks.  two written references and Garda Vetting is required for this placement.  short listing will apply
