Position Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a Maintenance Technician/Filling Operator. This dual-role position is critical to the efficient and safe operation of our industrial gas filling plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance activities on plant equipment, as well as operating the gas filling lines to ensure accurate and safe cylinder filling. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, an understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, and the ability to work effectively in a regulated industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance (PMs) on a variety of plant equipment, including:

High-pressure gas compressors
Vacuum pumps
Cylinder filling manifolds and associated valving
Cryogenic pumps and vaporizers (if applicable)
Material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, overhead cranes)
High-pressure piping systems and fittings
Electrical control panels and instrumentation
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical & electrical issues on plant machinery.

Execute corrective maintenance and repairs in a timely and efficient manner to minimise downtime.

Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.

Maintain accurate maintenance records, including work orders, parts used, and equipment history.

Collaborate with external contractors and service providers as needed for specialized repairs.

Operate gas filling equipment and manifolds to safely and accurately fill industrial gas cylinders

Perform pre-fill inspections of cylinders to ensure they meet safety and quality standards

Connect and disconnect cylinders from filling manifolds, ensuring proper sealing and connection.

Technical Skills:

Strong mechanical aptitude with proven troubleshooting skills.
Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and P&IDs.
Basic electrical knowledge (e.g., motor controls, sensors, 3-phase power).
Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems ideal
Welding and fabrication skills are an asset.
