Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Duties

This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.

As a Bus Driver/Programme assistant, you will be working to help individuals with their daily tasks. There are few jobs more important in terms of having great interpersonal skills than that of a programme assistant as you will possibly be the only professional a service user has any relationship with.

Here is a list of typical care assistant duties:
Collect service users in their own home and transport to Centre
Return service users to their own home
Collect HSE clients and drop to relevant allocated training centres
Keep buses clean and tidy and ready for use at all times
Assisting service users during programmes & activities in our Resource Centre.   
Assisting service users for trips/outings such as shopping trips and cinema trips. 
Organising trips & leisure activities such as bowling, arts and crafts and shopping trips

The ideal candidate will have:
Car Licence and possible willing to work towards getting a full bus licence.
The ability to work as a part of a team and be willing to work on their own 
Willingness to engage in training, both in house and also any personal and professional development which allows them to progress into full time employment.

Location: Kilkenny road, Carlow, Hours: 19½ hours weekly (Based on T&C of scheme)
