Our client is seeking a Design Automation Engineer to join a growing engineering team focused on developing custom automation equipment and special-purpose machines. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical design skills using SolidWorks, a background in mechatronics or mechanical engineering, and the ability to contribute across the full lifecycle of automation projects.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Design mechanical systems and automated machinery using SolidWorks (parts, assemblies, and drawings)

Collaborate with internal teams including controls, electrical, and build technicians to ensure seamless integration

Participate in technical reviews, concept generation, and equipment planning

Produce detailed drawings and documentation required for procurement and manufacturing

Ensure that designs meet functional, safety, and quality standards

Support build, debug, and commissioning phases in the workshop

Assist in troubleshooting and design updates during prototyping and installation

Contribute to design standardization, cost optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives

Technical Skills and Experience:

Proficiency with SolidWorks for 3D design and mechanical drafting

Experience designing automation systems, fixtures, or custom machinery

Familiarity with mechatronic components such as actuators, pneumatics, sensors, and motion systems

Good understanding of manufacturing methods, tolerancing, and mechanical assemblies

Hands-on mindset with a strong attention to detail and a practical problem-solving approach

Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or a closely related field

3+ years of experience in mechanical design for automation or machinery

Applications from junior engineers with strong SolidWorks skills and relevant academic or internship experience will also be considered
