Social Care Worker (Community Support Worker) in Bray Co. Wicklow Ref: Dr.Tu-OC01.0411 We currently have an exciting opportunity for qualified Social Care Worker (CSW) to join our team. This is a residential setting in Bray, Co. Wicklow. As SCW you will be involved in supporting clients to achieve their personal outcomes to build on their potential and to develop positive roles within their home and in the community. Working hours will be variable including day shifts, waking nights, weekends, and unsociable hours. About the Service: This Service has two female clients based in Bray, Co. Wicklow. This is a social care setting with practice strongly based around positive behaviour support. Our clients really enjoy going for walks, visiting sensory gardens, going to the cinema and going on day trips. Our staff team have a skill mix of Community Support Workers and Care Assistants. Our clients rely on our staff to support them engaging in sensory supports and visual supports. Applicants must have: One year’s post qualification experience of working with adults with intellectual disability A knowledge of the HIQA regulations and standards; Experience of working one to one with clients, as well as experience of teamwork. Experience of dealing with behaviours that challenge and with behavioural supports; CPI experience. Experience of teaching skills in cooking, budgeting, cleaning & building confidence skills Understanding and experience of therapeutic interventions; Experience in alternative communications Excellent organisation and communication skills; Experience of creative problem-solving techniques Enthusiasm, energy, and creativity. Can deal with confidential information in a discreet and responsible manner; Excellent IT and report writing skills Hold a full driving licence and be willing to drive location vehicles Be flexible to work a variety of rostered shifts over a seven-day work period Desirable Experience: Experience of working with clients on the autism spectrum. Requirement: Applicant must hold a QQI Level 7 in Social Care or Foreign Equivalent (validated by QQI) Registered with the Social Care Workers Registration Board maintained by CORU OR Hold a CORU-Approved Social Care Worker qualification and have applied for CORU Registration (evidence required) OR Eligible for registration with the Social Care Workers Registration Board maintained by CORU (evidence required) Key Responsibilities: Facilitate and implement a person-centred approach for our clients appropriate to their wishes and goals; Promote and protect the rights of people in a manner that respects their dignity, their right to make choices and their privacy; Actively seek new interests and opportunities for people to develop meaningful roles in their communities. To ensure the overall wellbeing of clients in all areas of their lives including health and personal care. To assist in the teaching of life skills in cooking, budgeting, cleaning & building confidence.
