Job Description: • Machinery Operation & Maintenance - Set up, operate, and maintain a wide range of workshop machinery including: ▪ Busellato CNC machine using Genesis Evolution WOP software ▪ Surface planer ▪ Spindle moulder ▪ Modern table saw ▪ Belt sander ▪ Re-saw ▪ 5-sided planer/moulder - Ensure machinery is kept in top operational condition with regular maintenance and troubleshooting. • Programming & CNC Operations - Confidently program, operate, and maintain the Busellato CNC machine. - Interpret technical drawings and input specifications accurately into the CNC software. • Team Leadership - Lead and supervise workshop staff, ensuring safe and efficient workflows. - Train apprentices and new staff on machinery use, safety procedures, and production standards. - Act as a mentor and uphold a strong team culture within the workshop. • Quality Control & Production Oversight - Monitor the quality of outputs to ensure products meet high craftsmanship standards. - Collaborate with designers and project managers to optimize processes and resolve production issues. Qualifications: Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a timber machinist or similar role. • Extensive experience with setting up, operating, and maintaining woodworking machinery as listed above. • Proficient in CNC programming, specifically with Busellato machines and Genesis Evolution WOP software. • Strong understanding of workplace health and safety regulations. • High attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to quality craftsmanship. • Production Planning: Develop and execute production schedules, considering materials, labour, and machinery availability. • Quality Control: Implement and oversee quality assurance processes to ensure timber products meet industry standards and customer expectations. • Resource Allocation: Allocate human and machine resources effectively to meet production targets while optimizing costs • Inventory Management: Maintain adequate stock levels of raw materials and finished products, minimizing wastage and stockouts. • Safety Compliance: Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing safety regulations and providing necessary training to staff. • Staff Supervision: Lead, motivate, and manage production teams, including carpenters, machine operators, and quality control inspectors. • Process Improvement: Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce production times. • Problem Solving: Address production issues promptly, troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, and find solutions to maintain production continuity. • Environmental Sustainability: Promote eco-friendly practices, including waste management, to reduce the environmental footprint Location: Unit 3a Corconree Industrial Estate, Dock Road, Co.
