We are looking for an experience Senior Software Lead interested in joining an expanding Engineering Team focused on the Digitization of the Global Supply chain. The role will focus on technical guidance, project oversight, and team mentorship. You will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions. This role involves both technical contributions and team management responsibilities. Our technology stack includes NodeJS, React, Docker, Python, Rust, SQL databases, and more. Our systems are hybrid deployments; both on-prem and in the cloud. The range of our products demands for a flexible individual able to think of their feet in a dynamic working environment. We follow KISS and Agile principles, focusing on what works while always aiming for long-term stability and maintainability. We’re looking for someone ready to hit to ground running taking the lead engineer role in specific projects, developing new features and participate in guiding our teams in planning & optimising existing ones. The role is based in company headquarters in Dingle, Ireland. For the right candidate hybrid or remote options may also be considered. THE ROLE - Lead a small development team and work directly with the product manager and in close contact with the product owner to develop and test applications - Collaborate with the development teams and business to define, design, and deliver creative and innovative solutions - Balance an ambitious feature roadmap with competing testing & quality standards - Contribute to and lead work planning, timeline estimates - Develop other Engineers and give timely & constructive feedback in code reviews & PRs - Ensure that applications work efficiently and effectively from a customer perspective - Deliver stable and effective application code PREFERRED EXPERIENCE - 4+ years NodeJS, Rust, Python or C/C++ OR - Proven track record of being a polyglot programmer - 4+ years developing and maintaining cloud-based applications - Experience in managing and maintaining SQL databases - 4+ years experience with containerisation tools such as Docker or Kubernetes - 4+ years installing and configuring Linux servers - High proficiency with Git: Rebasing, cherry-picking, resolving conflicts, etc. - In depth knowledge of communication protocols such as TCP, UDP, HTTP or gRPC - In depth knowledge of application protocols such as JSON HTTP, gRPC, msgpack and ability to identify trade-offs and suitability across a range of projects. - Ability to work both independently and as part of a team - Ability to communicate problems & proposed solutions clearly SOFT SKILLS - Ability to work both independently and as part of a team - Ability to lead a team - Ability to mentor and develop other engineers in the team - Be available during core team working hours - High oral and written communication skills We personally read CVs and cover letters, so no AI-generated content please.
