Department: Radiology Location: Quantum Diagnostics, Knocknacarra, Galway Reports To: Radiology Department Head Quantum Diagnostics Ltd is a state of the art medical facility opening in October offering a comprehensive range of diagnostics and consultation services – MRI, Ultrasound, Echocardiology and Consultation rooms. Job Purpose: To lead and manage the clinical MRI services, ensuring high standards of patient care, imaging quality, and safety. The MRI Clinical Lead will provide clinical expertise, coordinate service delivery, and contribute to service development and innovation. Key Responsibilities: Operational Management: Oversee daily operations of the MRI service including scheduling, staffing, and workflow optimization. Ensure compliance with local policies, regulatory standards, and MRI safety protocols. Coordinate maintenance and quality control of MRI equipment. Quality Assurance and Governance: Develop and monitor quality assurance programs to ensure consistent image quality. Lead audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments as required. Implement and uphold evidence-based protocols and procedures. Education and Training: Organize ongoing training and professional development for MRI staff. Support clinical education for students and new staff. Stay up to date with advancements in MRI technology and practices. Service Development: Collaborate with radiologists and other departments to expand and improve MRI services. Contribute to business cases for service development and equipment upgrades. Drive innovation through research, trials, and evaluation of new techniques. Person Specification: Qualifications: BSc in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent. HCPC registration (UK-specific; adapt for other countries as needed). Postgraduate certification or training in MRI (essential). Leadership or management qualification (desirable). Experience: Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in MRI. Proven leadership or supervisory experience. Experience with a wide range of MRI procedures and advanced techniques. Experience in service development and quality improvement projects. Skills and Attributes: Excellent clinical and technical MRI knowledge. Self motivated and can work independently High level of communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities. Competent in the use of MRI and hospital information systems. Working Conditions: Full-time, with occasional flexibility required for on-call or extended hours.
