About the role
SILA Linguists® is seeking a skilled and reliable Turkish Interpreter and Translator to join our roster on a freelance basis. You will provide both in-person and remote interpreting, and translate written materials between Turkish and English, ensuring accuracy and cultural appropriateness.
Key responsibilities
* Provide accurate, fluent interpretation between Turkish and English, both face-to-face and via remote platforms.
* Translate written documents between English and Turkish with precision and sensitivity to cultural nuance.
* Uphold strict professional standards and maintain confidentiality at all times.
* Liaise with clients to assess their language needs and deliver tailored solutions.
* Ensure smooth, effective communication for all parties involved.
* Keep up to date with relevant terminology, language trends and industry best practice.
Person specification
* Minimum of one year’s experience in interpreting or translation.
* Excellent spoken and written English and Turkish.
* Availability for both face-to-face and remote assignments.
* Strong interpersonal skills and a client-centred approach.
* Able to work independently and manage time effectively.
* A reliable internet connection for remote work.
* A recognised qualification in interpreting or translation is desirable but not essential.
