Cork - T12 C83H Salary: €34,882 per year Hours of Work: 40 hours per week About AB Ireland: AB Ireland is Ireland’s only commercial Bovine IVP (in vitro production) laboratory, offering advanced reproductive technologies to support the country’s leading cattle breeders. Established in 2021, we work with pedigree beef and dairy clients across Ireland and Northern Ireland. As a leader in bovine reproductive technology, we are committed to innovation, quality, and delivering results for our clients. Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Bovine Embryologist to join our small team in Cork. This role involves hands-on work in the in vitro embryo production (IVP) process, contributing to oocyte processing, IVF, IVC, embryo grading, and cryopreservation. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced, client-focused environment and contribute to continuous improvement and scientific excellence within the lab. Key Responsibilities: • Perform all aspects of the IVP workflow including: o Oocyte identification and processing o In vitro maturation (IVM) o Fertilisation (IVF) o Embryo culture (IVC) o Embryo evaluation and grading (Day 6 & Day 7) o Vitrification and thawing • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all lab procedures and outcomes • Ensure high standards of biosecurity, cleanliness, and lab safety at all times • Maintain equipment, consumables and stock • Collaborate with the wider team on the process and progress (scheduling, quality control, and client reporting) • Assist in the development and validation of new protocols and technologies • Communicate effectively with the team • Maintain compliance with EU regulations and lab accreditation standards Requirements: • BSc or higher in Animal Science, Veterinary Science, Reproductive Biology, or a related field • Experience working in a bovine IVF/IVP or reproductive lab environment • Strong practical skills in embryo handling, grading, and cryopreservation • Skilled in semen handling and analysis • High attention to detail and commitment to lab protocol and data integrity • Excellent communication and teamwork skills • Flexibility to work variable hours, including early mornings and occasional weekends • Experience working in liquid nitrogen • Full manual driving license
