Quarry and Mining Equipment Ltd t/a QME Mining and Tunnelling is recruiting Miners for our premises at Coolfore Road, Ardbraccan, Navan, Ireland. The salary range starts from €51,500 (€22.15/hr) based on a 36.5-hour week. Salary may be more based on experience and will increase proportionately if additional hours are required.

Job Functions: • Underground Development: Perform development work, including the excavation of tunnels/drifts using mining equipment such as Jumbo drills, LHD loaders, Scalers and Bolters. • Equipment Operation: Operate underground mining equipment efficiently and safely to complete development tasks, ensuring the correct use of machinery to meet project timelines. • Ground Support Installation: Install rock bolts, mesh, and other support systems to stabilize the mining environment and ensure safety. • Mining Plan Execution: Follow and interpret mining plans, ensuring development activities are carried out in accordance with design specifications and operational goals. • Safety Compliance: Adhere to strict safety protocols, including personal protective equipment (PPE), emergency response procedures, and hazard identification. • Drilling & Blasting: Perform drilling and blasting duties, including preparation, charging, and detonating explosives safely and according to company procedures. • Material Handling: Manage the movement and transportation of mined materials to tipping points or to designated storage areas. • Quality Control: Monitor and report the quality and progress of work, ensuring that development is completed to the required standard and on schedule. • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other mining staff, supervisors, and engineers to coordinate development activities and ensure smooth operations.

Key requirements include a valid Safe Pass and First Aid Responder certification, manual handling experience, ability to work in confined and physically demanding environments, and knowledge of safety regulations specific to underground mining. Experience with operating mining machinery and familiarity with relevant safety standards are preferred. A clean driver's Licence (Class B) is advantageous, with international permits accepted.
