ALHomecare, the live-in care specialists, has excellent live-in care job opportunities for you. You will have excellent training and support throughout your placement and you will have very good working conditions. ALHomecare has been placing live-in carers nationwide since 2013. The ALHomecare office team has been certified as a Great Place to Work. Therefore, we aim to provide you with excellent support and service during our cooperation.

Are you interested in doing short term live-in care placements with ALHomecare?

Your job would be to take care of an elderly person while their long term carer is on holidays (i.e. holiday cover care) or you would take care of an elderly person who has just been discharged from hospital and needs care at home (i.e. respite care).
These short cover/respite placements are 1 to 8 weeks in duration. Mostly they are 2 to 3 weeks long.
Note: We can provide you with ongoing short placements (one placement after another) and if you want, you can take breaks between each short placement or take a break after doing 2 or 3 short placements. This is a very flexible way for you to work. You do not have to work every week, if you do not want to.

What live-in care means?
You live with the elderly person in their home. You sleep in the house at night and work during the day, normally 7 hours per day, 5 to 6 days per week. Your working day is broken into blocks of work with breaks in between blocks of work. Your duties would include housekeeping, meal preparation, companionship, personal care, medication supervision, shopping etc.
Note: In a few placements you work by night and you are off duty during the day in the client’s home.
You normally take care of just 1 person, maximum 2 people i.e. an elderly couple.
