This Work Placement Experience Programme provides Participants with an opportunity to gain meaningful work experience, learning and training while on the programme. This programme is for jobseekers who are in receipt of qualifying social welfare payments and those transferring from a social welfare scheme or an ETB Training Allowance. Your eligibility for this programme will be verified by the Department as part of the application process.
We are looking for a Retail Assistant to join our team at Paul Byron Shoes. As a Retail Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering excellent customer service, maintaining store standards, and ensuring smooth daily operations. This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on retail experience through structured training and mentorship. The successful participant will receive full training in all aspects of store operations, including: • Customer service and building positive relationships with customers • Delivery processing and stockroom organisation • Stock management, including accurate stock counts and replenishment • Merchandising, pricing, and visual display to maximize sales • Operation of till systems and accurate cash handling • Communication and coordination with other stores within the company • Teamwork and contributing to a collaborative store environment This is a training and work experience opportunity, and no prior experience is necessary.
This is a training and work experience opportunity; no prior experience in this role is necessary. Accredited and/or sector recognised training will be provided to support your placement. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection. This optional module will fulfil your accredited training requirements for the WPEP. Formal Training Will Include: • Operation of till systems and accurate cash handling • Retail administration and store procedures • Stock handling, delivery processing, allocation, and restocking • Visual merchandising and maintaining shop displays • Health and Safety training ________________________________________ Informal Training Will Include: • Communication skills and customer interaction • Teamwork and collaboration • Problem-solving and adaptability in a retail environment • Providing excellent customer service and sales support • Accuracy with inventory and stock management • Selling skills
