First Year Apprentice Vacancy Apprentice Carpenter / Joiner Overview We are seeking a motivated and reliable Apprentice Carpenter/Joiner to join our team. This role is ideal for someone eager to learn the craft of carpentry and joinery through hands-on experience and formal training. You will work under the supervision of experienced tradespeople, assisting with a variety of woodworking, construction, and installation tasks across domestic, commercial, or workshop settings. Key Responsibilities Assist qualified carpenters/joiners with the construction, installation, and repair of wooden structures and fixtures. Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood and other materials according to specifications. Learn to interpret technical drawings and plans. Help prepare and maintain tools, materials, and work areas. Support site setup and cleanup duties as required. Follow all workplace safety regulations and company policies. Attend off-site or college-based training as part of your apprenticeship program. Develop skills in both first fix (frameworks, floors, partitions) and second fix (doors, skirting, finishing) joinery. Assist with workshop-based joinery such as cabinetry, windows, and stair components. Skills & Attributes Genuine interest in carpentry, joinery, and construction. Good practical and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship. Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team. Basic numeracy and measurement skills. Punctual, reliable, and eager to learn. Qualifications & Requirements Must be eligible to enrol in a recognised Carpentry/Joinery Apprenticeship (Solas). Full driving licence.
