This Work Placement Experience Programme provides Participants with an opportunity to gain meaningful work experience, learning and training while on the programme. This programme is for jobseekers who are in receipt of qualifying social welfare payments and those transferring from a social welfare scheme or an ETB Training Allowance. Your eligibility for this programme will be verified by the Department as part of the application process.
We are a professional dog grooming business based in the heart of Blackrock, Dublin. As our client base is growing, so is our team. Our salon is high end, neat, clean and organised. We provide a very high level of service and pride ourselves on customer care and gentle, professional grooming and dog handling. The placement will gain practical experience with dogs and dog grooming by providing assistance to our groomers and general assistance in the shop where needed. The placement will be able to learn from our experienced groomers and on-site manager, therefore gaining exposure in exploring a new career opportunity. The following practical training will be provided: - Dog handling and behaviour - Pet grooming - Salon hygiene and cleanliness - Advice on customer relations We are very excited to provide the opportunity for someone to experience what we do and what we are so passionate about!
This is a training and work experience opportunity; no prior experience in this role is necessary. Accredited and/or sector recognised training will be provided to support your placement. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection. This optional module will fulfil your accredited training requirements for the WPEP. The placement will shadow professional groomers and receive formal training on how to professionally handle and groom dogs. The placement will receive training from the on-site manager on how to operate the bookings software, communicate with clients and get a good understanding of how to manage and run a dog grooming business. If there are any appropriate courses the candidate can be sent on then that will also be taken into consideration. Formal training includes an iPET Network certificate in: Canine behaviour; canine skin, hair and nail health; and canine first aid. Courses are dependent on the official course dates and availability. Informal training includes practical training in dog grooming and handling, while being mentored and guided by one of our professional groomers.
