We’re seeking an experienced Catering Officer Grade 1 to take the lead in managing catering operations within a busy healthcare facility in Dublin 1. You’ll be responsible for the full delivery of catering services, from menu planning and food quality to staff management and compliance, ensuring every meal meets the highest standards of care, nutrition, and hygiene. Key Responsibilities Lead and Oversee Catering Operations: Manage all aspects of food preparation, service, and hygiene. Staff Supervision: Train, support, and guide catering staff to deliver consistent quality and service. Menu Planning: Work with healthcare teams to develop nutritious, cost-effective menus. Budget & Cost Management: Control budgets, monitor expenses, and manage supplier relationships. HACCP & Food Safety: Ensure full compliance with health and safety standards and maintain accurate records. Quality & Hygiene Monitoring: Conduct regular audits and ensure compliance with all regulations. Collaboration: Liaise with nursing and support teams to ensure catering aligns with patient care needs. Reporting: Maintain detailed operational and financial records, contributing to service improvements. Requirements Recognised qualification in Hotel, Catering, Institutional Management, or Dietetics (Degree, Diploma, or Certificate). Minimum three years’ experience in managing catering operations for an institution serving 200+ persons daily, or five years assisting in such operations. Demonstrated experience in staff supervision and budget management. Strong understanding of HACCP and food safety systems. Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills. Legal right to work in Ireland and successful Garda Vetting clearance.
