Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.

Accredited training will be provided to support your career growth. Basic computer knowledge and a desire to gain experience in the IT field are required. As an IT Assistant, you will: • Assist learners and staff with technical issues or queries, providing friendly and patient support. • Help manage the Laptop Loan Scheme, including updating spreadsheets, contacting learners, and organizing digital and physical files. • Set up classrooms for computer-based sessions, ensuring equipment and resources are ready for use. • Support online Zoom classes by moderating sessions and assisting with attendance tracking. • Create and upload user guides and resources to SharePoint for easy access by staff and learners. • Provide assistance to tutors with any technical issues that arise during classes. • Conduct site visits- Garda vetting may be required. Additional Responsibilities: • Learn and apply basic IT troubleshooting skills. • Maintain accurate records of tasks completed, including support offered and attendance in classes.
