Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.

This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.



Do you have an interest in the catering industry? Would you like to know more about the catering field, whilst supporting people with disabilities access a day service?
The Iona Resource Centre is requiring a CE General Assistant to assist the Chef and Kitchen Assistant in the canteen within its day service.  Our blind and visually impaired service users love socialising within the canteen whilst having a good cuppa and freshly made dinner at lunch time.

Duties will include (Training will be provided):
Undertaking lunch service in the canteen
Assisting the chef and kitchen assistant in the safe running of the canteen (adhering to HACCP and FASI guidelines)
Providing sight guide support
Socialising and engaging with service users when they are in service.
Opportunity to work towards QQI and/or Industry Standard qualifications.

The ideal candidate will have:
Caring nature & enjoy supporting and assisting people
The ability to work as part of a team.
A willingness to engage in training and complete HACCP Qualification.
Driving licence preferred
