Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

To register your interest you can contact an Employment Personal Advisor (EPA) in your local Intreo Centre.

Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.

General Assistant: IT Focus

Do you have an interest in latest technology? Would you like to know more about assistive technology, whilst helping people learn new skills?

The Iona Resource Centre is requiring a CE General Assistant to assist the Programme Coordinator within the technology suit of it’s day service.  Our blind/visually impaired service users love learning new skills and our dedicated IT Room enables individuals to practice their touch typing, acquire new skills to promote them in living an independent life.

Duties will include (Training will be provided):
Supporting Service Users at our Day Centre in IT Session and with various activities including crafts, bingo, games, and offsite outings.
Providing sight guide support
Socialising and engaging with service users when they are in service.
Opportunity to work towards QQI and/or Industry Standard qualifications.

The ideal candidate will have:
Caring nature and enjoy supporting and assisting people
The ability to work as part of a team.
A willingness to engage in training.
Driving licence preferred.
