Tasks and Responsibilities

Caring for older people is about more than routine support – it is about building trust and providing consistent, meaningful care. As a Healthcare Assistant in our nursing home, you will support residents in all aspects of daily living while ensuring their dignity and independence are respected. You will also work closely with nurses and other team members to provide holistic and person-centered care.

Assist residents with personal care such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support.

Communicate warmly and clearly with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.

Follow individual care plans and accurately record residents’ daily activities and progress.

Observe residents’ conditions, reporting any changes to the nursing team.

Support the team by maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment.

Required Skills and Knowledge

This role requires empathy, patience, and strong communication skills, alongside a genuine desire to support older people. You will need to demonstrate the ability to follow care plans, work as part of a team, and respond with sensitivity to residents’ needs. With a positive and caring approach, you will make a real difference in residents’ lives each day.

Provide personal care with dignity and respect, including assistance with hygiene, meals, and dressing.

Communicate effectively with residents, families, and colleagues in a supportive manner.

Follow care plans and record daily activities accurately and responsibly.

Recognize and respond to residents’ physical, social, and emotional needs.

Work as a reliable and collaborative member of a multidisciplinary team.
