Role Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Motor Vehicle Technician with a strong background in advanced vehicle diagnostics and complex problem solving. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing in depth technical analysis, system diagnostics, and precision testing on a wide range of modern vehicles. Key Responsibilities Advanced Diagnostics: Utilize scanners, oscilloscopes, multimeters) to perform comprehensive vehicle system analysis, including engine management, ABS, SRS, and electronic control systems. Technical Problem-Solving: Identify, analyze, and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical faults that have been escalated from routine service checks. System Testing & Inspection: Conduct detailed inspections and rigorous testing of critical vehicle components and systems to ensure they meet manufacturer specifications and safety standards. Consultation & Reporting: Provide expert technical advice and detailed reports to both customers and the service team regarding vehicle condition, necessary repairs, and preventative maintenance strategies. Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Operate and maintain advanced diagnostic tools and workshop equipment, ensuring all machinery is calibrated and functioning correctly. Quality Assurance: Act as a final quality checkpoint for complex repairs, verifying that all work has been completed to the highest standard before the vehicle is returned to the customer. Technical Documentation: Maintain precise and detailed records of all diagnostic tests, inspections, and repairs performed, contributing to a comprehensive vehicle service history. 39 Hours per week Qualifications & Experience Essential: A minimum of 2-3 years of post-qualification experience in a similar role, with a proven track record in advanced vehicle diagnostics. Essential: Demonstrable expertise in using modern diagnostic software and equipment. Desirable: Experience with hybrid and electric vehicle (EV) systems. Required Skills Technical Acumen: Deep understanding of modern vehicle mechanical and electronic systems. Analytical Mindset: Strong ability to logically and systematically diagnose complex technical problems. Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to inspection, testing, and documentation. Communication Skills: Ability to clearly explain complex technical issues to a non-technical audience. Problem-Solving: Proactive and resourceful in finding effective solutions to challenging faults. Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively with other technicians and service advisors. Adaptability: Willingness to stay updated with the latest automotive technologies and diagnostic techniques.
