The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and spray painting fabricated metal products to the highest standards in a modern production environment.

Key Responsibilities
	Prepare metal surfaces for painting including cleaning, degreasing, sanding, and masking
	Apply primers, undercoats, and topcoats using spray equipment
	Mix paints to achieve correct colour matching and consistency
	Operate spray booths and associated ventilation/extraction systems safely
	Conduct surface preparation including shot blasting or abrasive blasting where required
	Apply various coating systems including epoxy, polyurethane, and powder coatings
	Inspect finished work to ensure even coverage and quality finish
	Identify and rectify defects such as runs, sags, or poor adhesion
	Maintain spray equipment, guns, and booth facilities in good working order
	Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations including PPE usage
	Maintain accurate records of materials used and work completed
	Work to production schedules and quality standards

Essential Requirements
	Minimum 3 years' experience in industrial spray painting
	Proven ability to prepare surfaces and apply various coating systems
	Experience with HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) spray equipment
	Knowledge of different paint types and application techniques
	Strong attention to detail and ability to achieve high-quality finish
	Understanding of health and safety requirements in paint environments
	Good colour perception and ability to match colours accurately
	Physical fitness for standing, bending, and working in spray booths
	Reliable with good timekeeping

Desirable Requirements
	Experience with powder coating systems
	Knowledge of shot blasting/abrasive blasting equipment
	Experience painting structural steelwork or heavy fabrications
	Forklift licence
	Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification
	Previous experience in manufacturing or fabrication environment
