This is a frontline healthcare catering role where your work directly supports patient wellbeing, recovery and comfort. The role suits candidates with experience as a Catering Assistant, Kitchen Assistant or in food service who value structure, teamwork and meaningful work. Easy Access by Public Transport The healthcare facility is well serviced by multiple Dublin Bus routes, making it easily accessible from surrounding areas including Dublin City Centre, and South Dublin. Ideal for candidates relying on public transport. Key Responsibilities As a Catering Assistant, you will: Prepare and serve meals and beverages to patients and staff Deliver meals to wards and assist patients respectfully during mealtimes Maintain cleanliness of kitchens, trolleys, equipment and utensils Follow HACCP, food safety and infection control procedures at all times Stock ward pantries and rotate food supplies correctly Support kitchen and catering teams to ensure smooth daily service Work closely with ward staff and supervisors in a healthcare environment Requirements To be considered, you will have: 6–12 months’ experience as a Catering Assistant, Kitchen Assistant or in food service Healthcare catering or hospital kitchen experience is an advantage Working knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards Legal right to work in Ireland and ability to complete Garda Vetting Ability to provide 5 years of verifiable work references Reliable, flexible and a strong team player Good communication skills and a professional approach Salary & Benefits €17.53 per hour Double Pay on Sundays and Bank Holidays Full-time daytime shifts only – no late nights Excellent public transport links and bus routes Clear pathway from temporary to permanent opportunities Ongoing support from office and out-of-hours teams Opportunity to contribute directly to patient care and wellbeing Upskilling and progression opportunities Competitive pay structure with scheduled reviews recognising contribution
