Motor vehicle technicians diagnose, repair, and service mechanical systems and electrical/electronic components of cars, lorries, motorcycles, and other motor vehicles. They also inspect, repair, and maintain automotive air-conditioning systems.

 TASKS - Inspects vehicles visually, carries out test drives, and uses diagnostic equipment to identify engine and mechanical faults;
Removes, dismantles, repairs, and replaces defective parts using appropriate tools and equipment;
Reassembles, tests, adjusts, and tunes vehicle components, systems, or complete engines;
Carries out routine servicing and maintenance checks on oil and air filters, braking systems, and other vehicle components;
Diagnoses faults in electrical and electronic systems and replaces defective components;
Tests and services electrical and electronic vehicle systems;
Installs additional electrical equipment such as radios, audio systems, and aerials;
Repairs and services air-conditioning, heating, and engine cooling systems.
