Brookhaven Healthcare t/a Droimnin Nursing Home Ltd are currently seeking Healthcare Assistants in our Care Centre.

Location: Droimnin Nursing Home Brockley Park, Stradbally, Co. Laois. R32 Y580

Contract Type: Full-time. 39 hours per week.

Salary: €15.00 Per Hour

About the role:
The Health Care Assistant will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care to the highest professional and ethical standards of care practiced in the relevant care setting. The Health Care Assistant will provide holistic, person centered care, promoting optimum independence and enhancing the quality of life for residents.
Duties include (But are not limited to):
Deliver the care of residents within a best practice / evidence based framework.
Apply the principles of effective delegation in all instances to the maximum level compatible with safety.
Have a working knowledge of HIQA Standards as they apply to the role / care setting, for example, Standards for Healthcare, National Standards for the Prevention and Control of Healthcare Associated Infections, Hygiene Standards etc.
Actively participate as a multi-disciplinary / inter-disciplinary team member in all aspects of service delivery including clinical meetings & team meetings.
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individual person centered care programmes within an agreed framework and in accordance with best practice.

Requirements:
Hold a minimum a minimum QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support or equivalent;
At least 1 year experience in care of the older person or comparable role is desirable; Knowledge of Residential Care Legislation and HIQA Standards is advantageous;
Must be of professional, caring and empathetic nature;
Applicant must have a good command of the English language
