P&N O'Connors Garage is looking at hiring Panel Beaters who will be responsible for repairing, restoring, and replacing vehicle body panels to return damaged vehicles to their original condition. The role involves working with a variety of tools and techniques to reshape metal, remove dents, repair bodywork, and ensure high-quality finishing. Key Responsibilities: Assess damage on vehicle body panels and determine appropriate repair methods Remove, repair, or replace damaged panels using hand tools and power tools Straighten chassis and body frames using specialized equipment Repair dents, scratches, and structural damage Weld, grind, sand, and fill damaged areas to restore shape and appearance Paint mixing and application to match the original factory finish or a custom specification. Spray paint and then polish the finished surface to achieve top quality finish Align body components such as doors, bumpers, and fenders Fit new or repaired parts and ensure proper alignment Prepare surfaces for painting and finishing Follow safety and workshop standards to maintain a clean and organized environment Work closely with painters, mechanics, and workshop supervisors Prepare estimates and documentation for repair work when required Skills & Qualifications: Proven 2 years of experience as a Panel Beater / Body Repair Technician Strong knowledge of vehicle body structures and repair techniques Proficiency with welding, dent repair, and body straightening tools Ability to read and interpret repair manuals and damage reports Attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality workmanship Good physical stamina and manual dexterity Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently Qualification in automotive body repair (preferred but not always required) Personal Attributes: Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious Strong teamwork and communication skills Quality-focused with pride in craftsmanship
